In this episode, Dr. Sapna Behar and Mr. George Mathews, Founders Directors of Icarusnova, talk about design-driven approach to innovation. “We think that design brings a very practiced set of strategies to innovation; by bringing a powerful imaginative and synthesis quality to innovation which is often missed out in what we may call structured innovation. The future always involves risk. The future always involves imagination. The future always imagines a certain level of creativity in order to be able to comprehend what is yet not there.”
And here’s what Dr. Behar says-
There is this whole new area which is emerging where you are using different skilled people to do some of those things. For instance, one example could be something we had worked on, where there was an ultrasound machine which is designed to be used by a midwife and not a sonographer.
“A sonographer is trained to do the full works, they can use all the features, they can do a whole lot of studies. But what about designing a small device which is an ultrasound machine and putting it in the hands of a midwife.”

ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಆವಿಷ್ಕಾರ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಮ್ಯಾಥ್ಯೂಸ್ ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ, ಪಾಡ್ ಕಾಸ್ಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಅಂಶ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ -

ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀ ಬೆಹರ್ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ -
ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ನೈಪುಣ್ಯವಿರುವ ನುರಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವಂತಹ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ, ನಾವು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿರುವಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಿದೆ, ಅದೆಂದರೆ ಓರ್ವ ಸೋನೋಗ್ರಾಫರ್ ನಿಂದಲ್ಲದೇ ಓರ್ವ ಮಿಡ್ ವೈಫ್ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
